Description

Rhode Island Reds are an excellent layer of dark brown eggs and the state bird of Rhode Island. These birds are dual-purpose and an old-time, well-known American breed. From day old to 20 weeks, pullets will consume 17 lbs. of feed. They are heat tolerant, mature rapidly and lay for months on end. Due to their egg laying abilities, they are a popular choice for backyard flocks. The breed is a dark reddish-brown from baby to maturity, with males having a green tail. Typically, females weigh 6.5 lbs. and males weigh 8.5 lbs.

WE LOVE WELP!

We have ordered multiple batches of these Rhode Island Reds and they arrived in great shape and our now laying eggs beautifully! We will only order from Welp. They have been great to work with and we are excited to order this year.

Amazing!!!

I received all 25 birds plus an extra one. They are all super active and jumpy. I cannot wait until they start laying eggs. I had my doubts about this hatchery until now. Welp hatchery is one of the finest hatcheries there is I definitely will order from again. Thanks!!!
