Rio Grande Wild Turkey - The Rio Grande Wild Turkey is slightly smaller than
its cousin, the Eastern Wild Turkey. The Rio Grande
is disinquishable by the buff or tan coloration on the
tips of the lower back feathers that cover the base of
the tail feathers. In other species, these feather tips
are white. Toms will weigh from 17 to 21 pounds, while
the hens average 8 to 11 pounds. PLEASE
CHECK WITH THE REGULATORY AGENCY IN YOUR STATE THAT CONTROLS
WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT. YOU MAY NEED A LICENSE TO PURCHASE
