Description
Buff Orpingtons, sometimes known as "Big Buffs" are good for eating and make excellent setters. They are also a good brown egg layer and originate from England. These chickens are large birds with quiet dispositions that can take the cold well. Buff Orpingtons are loosely feathered and hens make excellent mothers. They are a light brownish-yellow (buff) as babies and are pure golden when they mature. Females typically weigh 6 lbs. and males are typically 7 lbs.
