Description
African Geese are a very eye-catching breed due to their dignified looks that attract a great deal of attention. They lay large white eggs and are desirable for crossing with heavier breeds of geese. They produce lean meat and are considered prime roasting geese. As babies, they are black and white with a little yellow on their heads. When mature they are brown with black knobs on their heads, black bills and dark stripes going down their necks. They are not as heavy as the Toulouse or White Embden, but they mature early. At about 21 weeks they weigh 14-16 lbs.
