Description
Mallard Ducks lay greenish-tinted eggs like Rouens and their meat has a wild flavor. These friendly ducks are most comfortable near water and are native to most countries in the Northern Hemisphere. As babies they are black with yellow streaks by their eyes. Mature females are mahogany brown with fine penciling of greenish-black or brown. Mature males have green heads and necks, purplish-brown chests and steel gray penciling on their upper bodies. They are raised primarily for hunting, gourmet meat, decoration, and exhibition. At 12 to 15 weeks females and males weigh 2-2.5 lbs. respectively. CHECK WITH THE REGULATORY AGENCY IN YOUR STATE WHICH CONTROLS WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT.
